Niger has suspended the transmission of French networks across the country, France 24 TV and RFI radio. This comes a week after a military coup that ousted President Mohamed Bazoum.
This came after the France 24 TV filmed Wagner soldiers in the country. Wagner is a private army group which is based in Russia. The groups machineries are the one fighting for Russia in Ukraine and has also been in other countries.
The France Médias Monde group, has condemned the act of suspension and added the the country is try to diminish the freedom of press in the country.
France’s foreign ministry also denounced the suspension and called for the immediate restoration of constitutional order in Niger.
