Urgent Calls for Action as Gaza Crisis Escalates: Blinken Pushes for More Progress

The Gaza Strip is once again at the center of international attention as the conflict between Israel and the militant Hamas group continues to take a heavy toll on Palestinian civilians. U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has voiced deep concern over the escalating violence, emphasizing that “far too many” Palestinians have suffered and lost their lives.

In a press briefing in New Delhi, at the conclusion of a comprehensive eight-country tour, Secretary Blinken acknowledged “some progress” in safeguarding Palestinian civilians. One notable development is Israel’s agreement to implement a daily four-hour pause in its military operations against Hamas in specific areas of northern Gaza. Blinken’s plea for increased efforts comes as the death toll in Gaza surpasses a grim milestone, with more than 10,000 people killed in the past month. Shockingly, around 40% of the victims are children, according to Palestinian officials.
