SANAA/TEL AVIV – May 4, 2025

The Yemeni Armed Forces, through their official spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree, have claimed responsibility for a ballistic missile strike targeting Israel’s Ben Gurion International Airport on Sunday. The missile reportedly bypassed Israeli air defenses and caused panic, with over 3 million Israeli settlers rushing to shelters, according to Saree’s televised statement.

“We struck Ben Gurion Airport with a ballistic missile. Israeli air defense failed to intercept it,” said Saree, asserting that the attack was part of Yemen’s continued military response in solidarity with Palestinians amid the ongoing Gaza conflict.

While Israel has yet to officially confirm the extent of the damage or comment on Saree’s claims, air traffic at Ben Gurion was temporarily disrupted, according to regional flight monitoring platforms.

The Yemeni military also issued a renewed warning to international airlines, urging them to halt all flights to and from Ben Gurion Airport, citing what they called “a legitimate military target.”

This marks a significant escalation in the regional conflict, as Yemeni forces widen their strikes against Israeli infrastructure. The move is expected to heighten tensions across the Middle East and draw further concern from international aviation authorities.
